Shipping cost calculatorSmartStore.biz puts you in full control of product shipping and related shipping costs. You can define an unlimited number of shipping methods. Cost calculations can be configured separately for each method of shipping: e.g. lump sum, dynamic calculation or calculation according to a prescribed shipping rate table (e.g. from companies like UPS, FedEx etc): SmartStore.biz applies your configuration automatically and displays the final shipping sum during the order transaction. Besides calculations based on weight alternatives such as price and number of units ordered are also available.
One new feature is the calculation of costs based on destination.: Each shipping method can now be assigned to zones, with their own set of rate tables (e.g. zone: EU, zone: rest of Europe, Zone: USA etc). This enables you to use even the most complicated cost tables from shipping companies.

Global order discounts
Universal order discounts are particularly easy to set up. You can set up and define as many discount levels as you need and in as many ways as you want in your store. Universal order discounts are applied to your customer's order total e.g.: 2% discount above an order value of 1000, 3% above 2000, etc.

Import/ExportA comprehensive range of import features enable the quick and surprisingly simple import and enhancement of already existing product data into SmartStore.biz. Transfer and integration of your current product inventory takes place using the Import Wizard. Incorporating your product inventory and merchandise management system into SmartStore.biz is simple with the Import Wizard. A filter mechanism allows you to make targeted selections from your product inventory ( e.g. only products valued at 500 euro and above). In addition, the real-time preview feature provides you with a detailed summary of the product inventory to be imported. Product pictures are also incorporated in the same way as the product group assignments. If the product group is not available, it is simply set up during the import process. The import routine is then saved automatically so that you can source it later. This allows you to incorporate updated characteristics at a later date, such as current prices.
Besides this, SmartStore.biz supports the standard exchange format for catalogs. BMECat.

XML Interface - The Simple Exchange of Data in XML Format
SmartStore.biz allows the exchange of product catalogs with other applications without media clash along with every imaginable resource such a pictures, documents, extended text, product categories, versions, etc. Import or export can either take place directly in SmartStore XML catalog format , or in BMECat format , the industry standard for referencing product catalogs.
For 3rd party applications without XML- or BMECat-support SmartStore.biz offers a simple Text-export as well.
The intuitive export wizard can import complete product catalogs, single product groups and even individually selected products. As a part of this process, the export file can be transferred automatically to any chosen location such as FTP, HTTP or SMTP. Media files such as pictures or user-defined documents (e.g. data sheets in PDF format) are either exported, directly embedded in the export file or with a reference to the media file.
The format is then recognized automatically when a product catalog is imported. The catalog can also be imported over the Internet per HTTP. On import, embedded or referenced image files are automatically converted to the web-compatible format JPG by the Media Managerwhen required.
These technical properties allow the broad distribution of the range of products you offer: This allows you to publish your catalog in shopping portals, digital marketplaces and purchasing platforms. Or exchange your catalog with business associates.

Product managerUse the Product Manager to specify products and sort these into product groups per drag 'n drop. All products are managed and edited in a user-friendly product data editor. In order to maintain the overview with large numbers of products, you can specify the characteristics into which the products are to be grouped in the data editor (e.g. according to name, weight, price, manufacturer. etc.). In addition to the product editor, a search mask and product statistic feature simplify the management of your products.

Product attributes
SmartStore.biz enables the systematic identification of specific product characteristics. The Attribute Manager thus allows you to create and publish data sheets and product specifications in the simplest manner. As a result, the unified structure of your product presentation allows your customers to compare similar products more easily and thus make more effective buying decisions..
An example: You sell home entertainment electronics including a large range of DVD players. Before making a buying decision, your customer researches the characteristics or attributes of a product in detail, e.g. in the case of DVD players connection types, portability, CD-R-compatibility, MP3-compatibility, remote control, special features, warranty etc. Your customer now goes on to compare the various models in your range using the attribute list for DVD players. It goes without saying that this example can also be applied to any chosen product groups just as effectively.
The administration of attribute lists of this nature is child's play in SmartStore.biz: You can define attribute lists of unlimited length for an unlimited number of product classes (e.g.: DVD players, color TVs, video recorders, digital camcorders etc). An attribute list can even be assigned simultaneously to several product classes. This is extremely useful, for example, for related products such as laser and ink-jet printers, Both categories demonstrate common, but also totally different individual attributes. Attributes can also be selectedglobally; global attributes are assigned automatically to every product.

Entering Attribute Values
SmartStore.biz now places all previously configured product classes in the Product Manager for selection. All the attributes in a class are then assigned to the product with a mouse-click. All you have to do now is enter the attribute-values specific to the product; e.g.: Types of connection: 2 SCART jacks, portable: Yes, MP3-compatible: Yes, warranty: 24 months etc. Attributes can also be typified in the following manner to facilitate rapid entry.
