Is SmartStore.biz really free?
Yes! Up to 20 products SmartStore.biz, with restricted functionalities, is available as a gratuitous download! For more than 20 products it is
necessary to purchase a valid licence. Please click here for detailled information regarding the different editions of SmartStore.biz.
Can I manage my customers in SmartStore.biz?
No! SmartStore.biz enables a fast and simple entry for you into the digital trade. To work truly in a simple way, SmartStore produces
static HTML, that can be transferred on any webserver. A customer-administration presupposes a database, and this restricts you consequently with
the selection of providers. Scripts as well as components that are executed on a webserver, would be required for the database-access.
Many providers don't allow the implementation of any components!
Can I also send the store on CD-ROM to my customers?
Yes! SmartStore.biz generates static HTML if you generate your WebStore. Consequently your store runs on a CD-ROM as well as on the web!
Do I need previous knowledge (for example HTML or JavaScript), in order to run a store successfully?
No! SmartStore.biz is conceived to reach every function and attitude quickly and simply with the mouse.
In which languages is SmartStore.biz available?
Right now SmartStore.biz is available in German, English and Greek.

On which operating systems does SmartStore.biz run?
The software can be installed on the following operating systems: Windows 9.x, Windows ME, NT 4 Service Pack 4, Windows 2000 and Windows XP!
The created store is platform independent and therefore can be deployed on any webserver.
Does SmartStore.biz presuppose a certain webserver?
No! SmartStore.biz generates static HTML if you generate your WebStore. Consequently you can transfer your WebStore on
any webserver, independently of your provider. You can even send your store to your customer on a CD-ROM.
Do server-expansions have to be installed on the webserver so that my store works on the web?
No! SmartStore.biz generates static HTML. You can transfer your WebStore on any webserver, server-expansions do not need to
be installed for a proper operation of your store!
Which browsers or browser-versions does SmartStore.biz support?
SmartStore.biz can perfectly be run with following browsers: Netscape version 4.7 or higher, Microsoft Internet Explorer
version 4.x or higher, Mozilla 1.0 and Opera version 6 or higher.

I have an individual product database. Can I import my products?
Yes, you can import your product data to SmartStore.biz by using a Text- or BMECat - Format
Can I shape the layout of my store independently?
Yes! In the delivery capacity of SmartStore.biz there are numerous, professionally shaped
design-templates of different topics. You can either choose an existing template for the appearance of your store or you can create a personal store layout using the powerful template-designer. This
way you can adopt your existing corporate design without HTML-Knowledge. Additional templates are being deployed on the SmartStore WebServers regularly which you can download from within SmartStore.biz. These templates can be imported and uses for commercial purposes.
Can I administer several stores simultaneously?
No! With the standard-licence you can administer only one store.
Do I have to transfer all data onto the web completely, after each time I update my store?
No! SmartStore.biz owns an intelligent synchronization-tool, that transfers only contents and data files onto the web, that
are new or were updated since the last transfer.
Do I have to install SmartStore.biz again, if I decide to update my free version to a full-version?
No! The update to a full version is quite simple and takes place per serial number. You simply enter your serial number once.
Finished! Same applies to an upgrade to a higher edition. Expensive new installations aren´t necessary, consequently the consistency of your data is guaranteed!
How safe is my store?
SmartStore.biz supports the security-protocol SSL. With SSL, you can safely encode sensitive data.
Why are orders from my store referred to a SmartStore-Server at first (https://www.smartstore.com/services/...)?
If a customer places an order at your store, a safe connection is built up to the SmartStore Webservices.
As a result the WebServices execute the following actions:
- Safe delivery of the order mail as well as the confirmation mail for your customer
- Verifies the payment-data entered by your customer
To be able to offer you these BackOffice-Functions, a communication channel must be built between your online-store and the Webservices-Platform. Therefore orders are referred to a SmartStore-Server at first.
